The pink is dyed with beets, green is red onion, and the periwinkle is purple cabbage. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVegetable dyes will fade in the sun over time, so take that into consideration. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe background color is Cascade 220 Sport in a dark brown. This is a hand wash 100% wool yarn and is held single throughout the hat.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe gauge is 26 sts. to 4\" and the pattern calls for a size US 2 and 2.5 needles. I used a 2.5 and a 3 to get gauge. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe kit includes the pattern and enough yarn to make one hat.
