How to Register
This retreat uses a Lottery system for registration. From 9:00 am Thursday - 9:00 am Saturday you can send us an email letting us know you want to attend this retreat. If you want to bring a friend, each of you can send us an email with your name and your friends name. If one of you is picked. Both of you get to attend. We're sorry we can't accept emails with more than one friend added.
Here's an example: Diane and I (Anna)both want to attend. Diane sends an email with Anna as her friend. I send an email with Diane as my friend. If either one of us gets chosen, we both get to go.
On Monday morning, we will send out an email to all of the people that got into the retreat. If you do not receive an email on Monday, we're sorry you did not get in.
If you would like to receive an email reminding you that registration will be opening, you can sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of any page.
During the retreat we allow for plenty of time to do your own thing. We like to think of our retreats as "Create Your Own". We offer a variety of choices you can pick and choose from, making the retreat exactly what you want it to be.
About this location
Naniboujou Lodge is located just North of Grand Marais, MN. It's an amazing historic lodge that sits on the edge of Lake Superior. We have the Lodge all to ourselves for a glorious week-end of relaxing and knitting.
“It all began in November of 1927. The founding members of the Naniboujou Holding Company formed an exclusive club on the northwestern banks of Lake Superior. The prestigious Naniboujou charter members included Babe Ruth, the famous New York Yankee, Jack Dempsey, the former world heavyweight champion, and Ring Lardner, a New York newspaperman.”
“Antoine Goufee, a French artist, painted Cree Indian designs over the walls and the twenty-foot-high domed ceiling (resembling the shape of a canoe). Guests marvel at its originality. “The almost psychedelic Cree Indian designs covering the walls and ceiling are like a North Woods answer to the Sistine Chapel.”
“Guests of today do not come for golf or for a dive into a swimming pool; they return seeking a quiet, peaceful, and natural environment. They come to gather their senses and to replenish both body and spirit in a place called Naniboujou.”
The history continues with many twists and turns. Today, the Lodge is privately owned, and we have the opportunity to have it to ourselves for 4 days of knitting, exploring, and relaxing.
