A knitter friend of ours, who lives in Northern Minnesota, thought it was appropriate to have a knitting project commemorating the designation of the Boundary Water Canoe Area (BWCA) as an International Dark Sky Sanctuary! 🌑
Not being a designer herself, per se, she reached out to a favorite Swiss designer, Marianne Niemack; AKA Runningyarn, with the idea. A knitting collaboration was born, and the result is the beautiful “Dark Sky Neckwarmer”; a perfect piece to wear when stargazing on a chilly evening in the BWCA.
We have put together two colorways for kits: Blue and Pine. Both are a combination of Berroco Ultra Wool and Malabrigo Rios which are both superwash wool.Kit Includes:
Two skeins of yarn
Needles needed: 16" circular sizes 6 and 7.
The pattern is available on Ravelry. (Each time we sell the kit, we will purchase the pattern on Ravelry using your name, so the pattern will also go into your library and the designer gets paid.)
