I (Anna) designed this hat. It is a very simple hat. I named it after the cross country ski trail system on the East end of Ely. It's where everyone ski's and I think this is a good ski hat.
It is NOT full on Intarsia. Because there is only one triangle on the body, you do need to cut the Contrast Color when you are done with it, but you can carry your Main Color along the back (when needed), you never have to cut your Main Color (like true Intarsia).
The Provisional Cast on is OPTIONAL. You can cast on any way you like and fold the brim and whip stitch it into place if you like.
We give you one colored chart and one grayscale so you can create your own colorway.
You need one skein of background color in any worsted weight yarn. If your skein has 220 yards, you will have leftovers.
You only need 4 yards of each Contrast Color.
I used a size 4 needle, because I like my hats knit tight for warmth.
