MORE INFO

Each Fall and Winter we host our local retreats.

We've been holding them for 30 years and love gathering in our backyard. We use two YMCA camps that are located on Burntside Lake (about 20 minutes from Ely, Mn.). We love being in the woods and on water.

Camp Widjiwagan is where we gather in the Fall. This camp is a little more 'rustic' but has full amenities and good food. We gather to knit in a beautiful log building which has a large stone fireplace, plenty of space for us to knit and restrooms. Our cabins have 3 rooms with bunk beds in them (we only use the bottom beds). There is also a small gathering space and a bathroom. The showers are about 25 yards from the cabins.

We also use Camp DuNord in the Fall and in the Winter. We stay in beautiful log cabins with fire places, complete kitchens and full bathrooms. We gather in a beautiful building that faces Burntside Lake, has plenty of room for us, a large stone fireplace, and restrooms. The Dining Hall is a mile down the road and we either enjoy the walk or drive over.

Both camps are beautiful and suit our needs perfectly.
The "vibe" at both camps is very relaxing.
These retreats are designed to give us time together, time to explore, and time in our cabins with our cabin mates.

Nothing at our retreats is mandatory. We have a loose structure and want you to make choices that allow you  to create the week-end best suited to you.

We recently added a retreat at Naniboujou Lodge located North of Grand Marais, Mn. on the shores of Lake Superior. The lodge has a rich and fascinating history including bright paintings in the dining hall. We knit in the Solarium, stay in the connected lodge, and eat in the connected dining hall. The food is amazing as well as the scenery.

International Tours
We are very happy to be working with Rowan Tree Travel for these tours. They are a small company that offers fiber focused International, and domestic travel. Our first trip with them was Iceland in October of 2022 and we had a fabulous time. May of 2023 we went to Greece, got on a boat and cruised islands in the Ionian Sea. Wow! It was fantastic. Next up: Scotland, Oaxaca (Mexico), Norway, England........

If you would like to receive retreat updates, please add your name to our newsletter at the bottom of any of our website pages.
